The Tale of the Prince and His Magical Hound

Once upon a time, in the grandest city of Denmark, there lived a prince in a castle for learned men and intellectual women. He had just finished competing in the national knight tournament, which, against all odds, he had somehow won—despite constantly falling off his nerdy steed, Erno.

Winning the tournament also won him the interest of a maiden, who soon became a part of the prince’s life. The two of them decided to share a home in the castle, weaving their days together in a life that felt as sturdy as stone.

One day, as fate would have it, the maiden stumbled upon an advertisement in the local newspaper:

“Magical dog looking for a new home.”

Without hesitation, the prince and the maiden set off on a quest, riding their mechanical steed toward the far northern lands of Zealand, where the breeder of enchanted creatures awaited them.

There, they learned that this particular dog possessed a most unusual gift. While other magical hounds could fly, speak, or even vanish into thin air, this one had been blessed with something far greater—the power of love and unwavering loyalty. No matter what trials its owner would face, the dog would remain steadfast, a companion through all storms.

The prince, unaware of the weight of this choice, decided to bring the dog home—a decision that would turn out to be the best he had ever made. Together, they named him Accio, for his magic was such that he would always come when called, never failing to answer the summons.

Time passed, and the prince and the maiden made an unbreakable vow to one another, a promise of a shared future and a family yet to come. Before long, they were wed, and their love story seemed to be heading toward a happily ever after.

If that is the ending you seek, now is the time to say goodnight and let the tale rest here.

But this was not the end of the story.

For unknown to the prince, the maiden’s heart had begun to change. Whether by fate or by choice, she broke the unbreakable vow, and as the old magic dictated, she was transformed. No longer the woman he had built a life with, she became something different, distant, unreachable. It was as if a great earthquake had split their kingdom in two, leaving them on separate sides of what they once shared.

And so, the maiden left, chasing new paths, while the prince remained.

At first, he believed he had been left in eternal solitude.

But he was not truly alone.

For by his side, as faithful as ever, stood Accio, his magical hound. Through sorrow and silence, through the echoes of what once was, the dog remained—offering comfort, security, and a love that asked for nothing in return.

And so, the prince and his loyal companion journeyed forward, searching for a new beginning—one where the prince might still find the family he had always dreamed of, and where Accio might have more hearts to protect.

And though the road ahead was uncertain, one thing was certain:

A prince with a faithful heart, and a dog with unwavering devotion, will always find their way home.
